Is Oasis of the Seas Good for Me?

By Nadia Jastrjembskaia

These questions I hear almost every day. Why? People are unsure about the Oasis class ships: Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. Some major misconceptions are:
  • They are too big, so you feel crowded.
  • It is not safe to be among thousands of people, because diseases spread out rapidly in crowded ships.
  • Oasis class ships are for younger generations only. This is too noisy for older people.

Of course, people want to see what they want to see. The reality is that the Oasis of the Seas and her sister Allure of the Seas are built in mind for different categories of cruisers.

For the first misconception: this is true that you feel overwhelmed but only for the first day. All my clients noticed that there are too many people during first day of cruise than on other ones. Truth is that ships are so big that crowds thin out and people spread as they discover what they are interested in.

Second misconception is about diseases on ships, including Oasis of the Seas. Everything depends on the cruise company and passengers that must disclose information about their current health state before embarkation. Oasis of the Seas received the highest score for the sanitary in 2010 inspection. Regarding passengers – good screening procedures and honesty help prevent appearance of sick people on board.

For third misconception, I will concentrate not on the age group but on the younger soul. Yes, those ships are built for people who are wanted to be entertained and have good time. So, those ships are ideal for multi-generational vacations such as family re-unions. Everyone can find things to do and be busy to enjoy the cruise.
