NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS HAS SHOWM UP!

Navigator of the SeasThe Navigator of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International, just arrived to Galveston after complete revitalization in dry dock. This ship belongs to the Voyager class ship – the first even mega ship category. The Oasis class ships, the Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas represent the latest edition of the most innovative ships in the cruise industry.

The Navigator of the Seas was remodeled according to the modern standards. This is done as a part of the program ‘Our Best Ship is Every Ship.’ The goal of this program is to make Oasis-class upgrades on the entire fleet. It took a month in a dry dock to finish the revitalization project.

The new features reflect the most popular ones from the Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas:

  • FlowRider surf simulator
  • 220-square foot outdoor movie screen overlooking the main pool
  • Chop’s Grille
  • Izumi Asian Cuisine (prices a la carte)
  • Giovanni’s Table Italian trattoria ($15 per person for lunch and $20 for dinner)
  • Royal Babies and Tots Nursery
  • Wi-Fi service

New digital signage as well as flat-panel televisions is also a part of revitalization. The most unique feature in the whole cruise industry are the virtual balconies. This means 80-inch high definition screen framed to look like a real balcony – read more about virtual balcony in my other post about virtual balconies.

Adding new dining options is a big plus for the Voyager class ships – guests will have total of eight dining venues to choose from. Royal Caribbean International implements the newest specialty restaurant – Sabor Mexican restaurant. Surcharge for this restaurant is $25 per person.

Another addition to the ship Navigator of the Seas is new Panoramic Ocean View staterooms with floor-to-ceiling glass walls.

The Navigator of the Seas will sail year-around from Galveston, Texas. The ports of call are:

  • Cozumel, Mexico
  • Roatan, Honduras
  • Belize City, Belize
  • Falmouth, Jamaica
  • George Town, Grand Cayman.
